In this post, we are going to tackle how you can calculate each way place odds in European odds format (decimal odds – our favourite way) , known as eachway betting odds chart. You will notice that we don’t provide odds under 4.0 (3/1) because we believe using them will get your account flagged much easier. Anyway, any horse under the odds of 5.0 for 1/4 odds races and under odds of 6.0 for 1/5 odds races will lose you money in overall.
The formula which is used in the below table is: For example, our Win Odds is 21. So for 1/4 Place Odds you will have 21 -1 =20/4 = 5 +1 = 6 (our 1/4 Place Odds).
|Win Odds||1/4 Place Odds||1/5 Place Odds|
How can you use this eachway betting odds chart table? Easy, to find out if you need to use 2nd or 3rd column, you will need to look at bookmakers site for this information. For example, let’s say we are looking into Bet365 account for today’s horse race. Under the race itself we will find something similar to the below screenshot.
E/W (Each Way) places calculated at 1/4 odds & 5 places are paid on EW bets.
Normally, this number of paid places will happen on big horse racing events, such as Cheltenham Festival or Grand National at Royal Ascot. For any regular horse racing day, only 2 places are paid on Each Way places. Whatever is the case, this is great for matched bettors because you can now exploit the extra places.
